Slave I will take some time to think this over. Right now my faith in mankind is at an all time low and mentally I am not sure that I am in a position at this point to fight for people who have not one iota of consideration for anyone but themselves. To often lately I see this behavior rearing its ugly head and frankly it is getting me down' date=' or maybe just p1ssing me off.

Myself and Delgado have discussed this recently and we will be setting up a meeting with the park soon to meet with the officials. Will keep you posted.[/quote']

I suppose I will be castrated ..... again .............. if I say .....

CYCLISTS BEHAVING BADLY!!!!!!!!!

This is now becoming a battlecry!!!!!!!!!!

Mux, I know and respect that both yourself and Delgado have put in a lot of effort ot try and keep this place open for some who do not deserve it.

I'd like to attend this metting and put forward some suggestions. Perhaps, if this is not possible, you would like to hear those suggestions.

It will be such a great pity to lose out on what is an ideal place to train and ride.

I am with you 100% on how you feel about being let down by many. There may be some alternatives.

1Hill, I agree. No way cyclists ride with glass bottles so that was definitley not one of "us".

I just cannot fathom the logic (or lack thereof) of people having this need to throw bottles onto the road and break them. It is the same as not putting a gel wrapper back into your pocket for later disposal. Except that glass is just so much more destuctive. Neither are degradable andleft alone, will still be an eyesore in 100 years time. (If the world is still around then.)

Glass cuts tyres and hurts animals, can cause fires and is not easy to clean up.

Generally speaking of course, a lot of people lack common decency today.

Can they not understand that this is a nature reserve?

It is pretty much getting to be a problem in many of the National parks.

Yes, too much glass on the route, be careful. Amazing how much has burnt in the last 2 weeks, at least the rain will transform the black char to green soon.

What still bugs me the most is the number of 'official' cars/game vehicles/trucks still ride the wrong way on the reserve route. the damn drivers always take short cuts rather than follow the correct direction.

you really need to be awake at times on blind corners.

That dude needs a slap upside the head - i've had at least 3 near misses with him and his fire vehicle.

Reported him on every occassion but to no avail...

I never feel resposible for other cyclists. If they want to behave like idiots that is there business but after what I saw 2 weeks back I also would be pretty understanding if cyclists were banned. A huge group of cyclists trying to get in from the south side. They were belligerent and arguing with the guard about paying. They were trying to confuse him and sneak people in without paying. One guy was actually pissing on the side of the guard hut. I had come down from the hill before the boom and had paid on the northern side. The guard was so mixed up with all the yelling he didn't open the boom for me as they usually do. I pushed through the crowd and under the boom to get on my way and had a bunch of guys yelling at me and telling the guard they would not pay as I had just pushed through. When I was leaving after the ride I saw them again on the northern side, all over the road. One retard was pissing up against a road sign while 2 of his mates took photos of him with cell phones.

Brave boys all in a group. Bunch of little wankers if you ask me.

My suggestion would be to sell formal membership to ride in the reserve and force cyclists to wear numbers.

Sounds good to me mate. Planning to do a ride with Trubie in SBR on Sunday. Why not join us and we can do it then.

Ride at SBR and talk?? Never thought I would see those words in the same sentence!!

FOFLMFAO. Dude, I learned that one from you. I recall you giving me a blow by blow on where to be careful on the decents and how hard the next climb was going to be.

OK, so will be riding with Greyowl a bit later. Will chat to him about doing a lido loop on Saturday.

Will E-mail you with the details.

here is an idea for the wrapper problem. Why don't the gell companies stop supplying these things in little wrapper sachets??? Make them only available in those little plastic bottle thingy's like the wasp brand has. That way, if you want to use a gell, you have to pay a little more to get the bottle, which you will think a little harder about throwing on the side of the road.

that won't just stop the problem at SBR but at every race and every mtb park/facility and every other road used by a cyclist?

These suppliers are contributing to the problem, so that would be a real nice move on their part! I will most definitely support a company that does its bit, and getting rid of these little troublesome packets once and for all surely makes sense???

Also in terms of the road where everyone goes the wrong way, can't we put another boom and a guard at that point??? I will rather pay a little extra on my entry fee to put this in place, rather than use the use of the reserve totaly!

Just an idea!

I would love to agree with you amateur, but I also saw a number of bottles (Water bottles) discarded in the reserve on Sunday.

Most races I have done I have seenmany bottles thrown away, so I have reservations that your idea will work.

Whasp have a smart marketing idea in that they will give you a discount if you give them the empty wrappers back. (AT least they did this at one time.)

People in general are just lazy and have a huge attitide problem. Littering is an attitude adjustment. We need to become more environmentally friendly, but at the rate that we pour carbon monoxide andother greenhouse gasses into the atmospher, and at the rate we are clearing out the equatorial forrests, I doubt if we will be having this type of debate in another 30 to 50 years.

Man will have suceeded in turning hisplanet into a barren wasteland and we will probably no longer be around.

Damn, are we smart or what?
