Scooterza Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 I picked up my cycling SA license card a few days back and I see that I am in the Elite Men category. After puffing out my chest and thinking I was a stud for a few seconds I realised that this must be wrong - I am a 33 year old wannabe and I don't think I belong in Elite Men! I wrote to Cycling SA who seem to indicate that I am not the first. Who else has had this problem and what did you do about it. I see that my start time for the Fast One this weekend is 5.55 so I can just imagine I am going to be starting with all the speed merchants whilst I puff away rapidly fading into the distance.
ShortLegs Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 As far as CSA is concerned you're either licensed Elite or unlicensed. No categories (yet) but you should be seeded by your national index (Super Cycling or PPA).
Nettie R Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 That start group sounds like the vets 30-34. Elites start at 5h30. A friend received his license last year with someone else's picture on it. What's next?

Pickled Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 From what I can see is that the group that UCI see you as is elite, but the local racing is below that. I have the same, elite UCI and then a vets 30 - 34 below. I am starting at 5h55 on Sunday, the same as you
