Just a thought, Sauser didn't get DQed from the race results when he was found guilty of 'taking out' Paulissen at last year's World's, just relegated from first to second. And that was on TV replays for all to see. Wonder what the UCI's requirements are for a rider to actually be DQed completely in this type of infringement? Anyone have time to check the UCI rules?

they should have sorted this out on the bike, and never mentioned it in public. not good for the sport or sponsors. i also hear that KE is not the most popular guy in the peloton. maybe he got what has been coming to him for a while. lets hope it wasnt some official getting a little over zealous. after all, they are so used to being paid for nothing. maybe this was their chance at the limelight.

Hi Guys

Well there has been lots of talk in the media about the story between me a Kevin.

I am not for one second saying that I was right or proud of it but

the thing is both us were wrong and the fight should have stayed out on

the course. If you walk into a pub and push someone and they turn

around and knock you out who is wrong?

But mail me your feelings?

Also just remember that Kev and Brandon were team mates at a stage and maybe know things about each other that we don't. All we can do though is make sure we have a clean race., Both of them are really nice guys and put in A LOT of effort.

Is this where MTB is going to ? .... A bit mellodramatic wouldn't you say ? "An eye for an eye"? This is certainly not a new concept nor has MTBiking been exempt from this scenario in the past. The only new aspect in the Barberton showdown is the tittle tale protest and the questionable judgement shown by the presiding officials. DQ for retaliation ?? Food for thought ... MTN rider vs DCM rider ...DCM 1 2 and 3.... No MTN rider on the podium.... MTN new sponsor of the series ... ?? How partial was the decision?

What! Fight amongst themselves?? Come on! I say WELL DONE KEVIN!! At last someone had the balls to go and do something about these reoccurring issues! When and who ever decided that switching, spiting and swearing to name a few, were part of the mountain bike culture?? NOOOOO NOOOOOO, don?t be fooled that these traits contribute to a hard core mountain biker image! Please!! <?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

In the end, Who cares who did what first, the bottom line is K went and reported it to the right authorities?unlike BS making public attacks on the web/facebook regarding the issue.

A real mountain biker will take accidents like this in their strides and let the legs do the talking! But in the end, this type of behaviour has to be stopped before youngsters think that is acceptable!

I don?t know who was in the wrong?but clearly some people are waaayyy to touchy?seems to me like sourness to other people?s success.

PS ? Normally the person who?s at fault has the constant need to explain and defend their side of the story?.I don?t see Kevin making personal attacks???

Yet another classy first post. 'you hear' KE isn't the most popular? Have you ever even spoken to the man? I'm a rank funrider and he always says hello and has a friendly chat even though I'm a virtual stranger. He does the same with anyone who shows an interest. Why don't you put your name on your unfounded theory, 'Biff'?

Im with Intern, Im not saying Kev is 100% innocent, but why are you so sure he is the Pig in the tale?

the words posted origionally was this...

"but lucky I didnt go down.. i saw red and as far as I was concerned he was not going to get away with it that easily...

So retaliated with the same treatment... I switched him back but he was so tired that he could hardly hang onto the bars so a little nudge had him eating some dust..

I think the difference is that Kev actually went down and that Brandon might have lost a second or so. If Kev was in the wrong. Which Im also In doubt about ,since the "wanting to catch his wheel" and then suddenly being taken out doesnt sound so "clear"to me anyway.

I think Brandon might have gotten to excited to early and diddnt think it through before going on like this and is now backpeddling a bit. which is why he now wants our e-mails...why does it matter what we think??

Ive known Kev since he was in highschool, he deserves every bit of what he has accomplished. Him and his family has done more for the sport of MTB than any other rider I can think of, so easy on those comments...back it up with facts before you go throw them around.

Im off to bed, looks like its going to be good weather for a ride in the morning.Sleepy

I'm with both of you guys...<?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

At all the events I have been, Kevin only displayed great sportsmanship...you will never see him retaliate like B....making personal remarks about K's nose??

That just shows that the issue is far deeper than the switching incident!

B : you are only making us respect K more! Rather stop now and save yourself some dignity.

no, let him carry on. the sports needs its characters. like the euro road scene has had its cippolinis and riccos.
