My Pharmacist just adviced me to use ADVIL CS Tablets for a cold and flu. I saw that it is green in the Wada booklet, but on the packet it shows that it contains Ephedrine. Will / Can I test positive for any drug-related offence if I use it.

also if you look at the amount of ephedrine in a advilcs tablet and the amount you need to have in your body to test positive and the fact that its only active in the body for a short while (right chunky?) you will need to take an entire box of advil CS just before the race to test positive.

when last did you take so much advil cs that you arrived on the start line shivering and goosebumb covered ?

Depends if you win or not. It seems like they test up to 21st place overall and up to six place in a specific categories if I am not mistaken, Eben please feel free to correct me, so worry about it if you feel that you will do better that, otherwise you are pretty safe even if you wash your ephedrine down with some epo.

From http://www.wada-ama.org/rtecontent/document/2009_Prohibited_List_ENG_Final_20_Sept_08.pdf it would appear as if you are not allowed to drive there (0.08g/L), but once there are allowed to compete. Just do not swerve and switch somebody, you might get DQ'd then

P1. ALCOHOL

Alcohol (ethanol) is prohibited

In-Competition only, in the following sports. Detection will be conducted by analysis of breath and/or blood. The doping violation threshold (haematological values) is 0.10 g/L.

? Aeronautic (FAI)

? Archery (FITA, IPC)

? Automobile (FIA)

? Boules (IPC bowls)

? Karate (WKF)

? Modern Pentathlon (UIPM) for disciplines involving shooting

? Motorcycling (FIM)

? Ninepin and Tenpin Bowling (FIQ)

? Powerboating (UIM)
