Well, here is my rant for the day...

Just happened to pop into FPC (off Witkoppen) as I was in the area and needed to get a bolt which attaches the hanger to the frame on the non-drive side of my MTB. Well, the youngster working there told me he doesn't have time to sort it out and it would probably take him 20mins to source one. He suggested I go to a hardware to find one!

Needless to say I left and will certainly NEVER buy anything or even waste my time in that shop again. Good riddance to bad rubbish...

I popped into MSC up the road and was sorted out in a couple of minutes. The guys didn't even charge my for the bolt. Thanks MSC.

chill,

all the fun riders doing Argus are causing the bike shops endless stress with their services ext before the big one.  Mechanics at bike shops are about relaxed as nervous cats on hot tin roofs being shot at with sling shots.  They don't want to be bothered at the moment.

AngrySo how is that an excuse for treating a CUSTOMER like dirt?

In  fact with that attitude I'll be very sure NEVER to bother them again.  Not with my questions or with my money.

Ja nee kyk, typical of our stores in SA.

Problem seems to be that they hire students that can work there for a part time job or smaller salary and those students dont really care what goes on or how the service is, as long as they get payed and get their comission.

When it comes to actually helping you when you need it most, they dont even try going the extra mile.

Ive given my new wheels to my lbs to get olympic strips and bontrager tyres and blue nipples fitted and make em tubeless and ive been waiting more than 2 weeks now, they never called me as they said they would, i have been there inperson in the mean time and asked them to call me twice and it hasnt happened.

They cant tell me when the items will arrive or what they will cost.  WTF? If my work orders something from a supplier we can give you the prices immediately.  How can you order something and not know what it costs???

And this is after buying a 25k mtb from them and other parts so its not as if they dont know me.

I've also only had hassles with FPC.

One week I'm there looking for a post-to-post 180mm adapter, the guy brings down an IS-to-post. After explaining the different to him, he tells me they don't have post-post. A week later, I'm looking for the IS-to-post adapter that I held in my hand a week earlier, so I phone them, and apparently now all they have is post-to-post. Confused

I've given up.

Also only had the worst service from FPC,they will never see me again.

Bunch of kids with no idea of service or support for their products.

Hey Kona, while I can appreciate that the shop could well be busy, I do think that that is a pretty poor excuse even if they were flat out. However at the time there was one person in the shop watching an MTB DVD (I'm not sure if he was an employee or not). There was a lot more activity at MSC and those guys still managed to find the time to help me out.

Also, this BS attitude is seriously short sighted. I don't normally shop at FPC but figured I'd pop in since it was convenient at the time, but now I know that I'll save more time by not popping in at all.

Good thing he did not find the bolt because you would not have been able to afford it??Evil%20Smile<?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Agree. Asked FPC Witkoppen to order me a pair of Specilaized shoes. They promised to do so and call me within a week. I'm still waiting a year later and I got the shoes elsewhere.

Had a bike serviced. Got it back with loose headset and grating bottom bracket.

Went to Irene and got shock serviced. It was put back on the bike backwards!

Someone send me a link to this post and I must say that I

was shocked at what I read and it really sucks to receive such bad feedback.

We?ve been aware of some problems which started when the

workshop manager left on short notice and Ruan (manager) was flat out to keep

the shop running smoothly. I am aware of the fact that we have dropped some

balls ? especially in the workshop. Sorry to the guys who was inconvenienced.

We have made significant changes to rectify the problem and Ruan

is now spending a lot of time in the workshop and is testing every bike before it

leaves the workshop. I also just re-employed Gavin Pelser as manager, so things

should start to run smoothly again.

I would like to hear more feedback and will do everything in

my power to get the service to where it should be. I will even offer free

services to the guys that complaint on the hub, if you will evaluate the

service and report back to me. A lot of this could have been avoided if I

received feedback, so please email me at fritz@cyclesport.co.za if you have

complaints / feedback.
