Why is an IDT so uncomfortable. After less than 20min using the same bike, shorts, saddle etc my butt is killing me. Is this purely as a result of the "fixed" nature of the system or what?

Any ideas on how to make it more comfortable - a couch is too big to attach Big%20smile

Know exagily what you mean, I once tried a Gel Saddle cover Embarrassed .... It provided slight improvement.

I try and change position every few minutes, stand, sit up straight ect.. for a few seconds.

I find riding on a harder resistence makes it more comfortable.

True, i do some spinning intervals at high cadences sometimes and it is definetly worse when doing so...

I change position every few minutes as well. It usually involves walking around the bike and finding something more interesting to do.Wink

I've tried everything - used the Rides DVD's as well which are varied  - maybe I'm just a pansie, but after an hour I'm in serious pain Cry

Was even thinking about buying Rollers instead.

I "NEVER LIKED" an IDT - never liked using it even if it stormed outside - BUT I use it. been off for 2 months after a gr8 training year last year. Now I'm back on the IDT & gnashing my teeth -- the IDT does help must say.

Lately my hands go "dead" (needles and pins) on the trainer after only a few minutes. Don't know why Confused

Is the front wheel raise or on the ground? Try putting a phone book under the wheel. Otherwise, think of it as a great excuse to get out of the house and ride!

Wheel is lifted up on one of those stand things as well. I thought it was something to do with the lack of movement in the rear triangle and BB that happens on the road.

25 min and my nuts go numb and i stand while i ride to.i have tried lifting the front wheel and it didnt help.No problem on the road though.

Wink I'm considering going to get a custom saddle made specificaly for my IDT with this problem in mind...
