What did everybody think of the Sani seeding.

After the initial hiccups (and there were a few people in wrong batches) I thought it worked a dream. What did everybody else think? I think seeding is the way to go ... I certainly was never held up in the singletrack at Sani!Smile

I thought it worked quite well, we were held up a little but not bad at all.

Started in I and was moved to F after the first day so guess we were stronger than we thought we were

Day 1's seeding was a bit of a cock up. We passed "A" batch  guys 10km into the ride sweating themselves silly up one of the hills.  Days 2 and 3 were perfect as the system sorted itself out after day 1. Definitely the way to go!!

Was a great way to match everyone with a similar skill and pace.

We started off in A but due to a couple of problems on Day 1 got relegated to B for Day 2 and managed to ride ourselves back into A for Day 3

Started only in M (Adventure) on day one, moved up about three batches for day 2, but due to technical problems in the first 10 kays lost all of the benefits, and waited about 45mins in line just after Nick's Pass due to all the mud.

I also believe that the other races should follow this example.  It made the race much more enjoyable whilst cycling with cyclist with same amount of skill/training/fitness...

the Subaru Sabie race would have benifited from the same format. Smaller managable batches i think is the way to go

Well done

there was definitely less bottlenecking this year, the seeded start was the way to go and all of the 'double' singletrack helped too!

Unfortunately unlike most that have posted here, I was 'demoted' every day EmbarrassedLOL

Day 1 was much better with the seeding.  Was neither held up nor held others up (more common in my case).  Helped make the day as fast as last year despite the trickier conditions.

Thought the seeding was great.  Spread the field out on day 1 so the single tracks were not such a bum fight.  Day 2 managed to lead the batch into Murry's meander and only hit the back of the previous bunch towards the bottom of Nicks Pass.  The mud really spread the field so the single track sections were pretty quiet after that.  Guess day 1 seedings will improve as more data is collected.  I'm all for seeding in other races where the field is big.
