Fleming Posted March 4, 2009 Share When I mount my tyres to my rims I take extra special care to make surethat the valve lines up with the center of the logo on the side of thetyre. A few people laugh at me for this but i think it looks good. maybe its because i am an engineer. Anyone else do this?Fleming2009-03-04 02:20:
TCRCARBON Posted March 4, 2009 Share Yes I do! Drives me nuts when the shops don't. It's a matter of pride in your work.
parabola Posted March 4, 2009 Share I'm an engineer too. I understand your seemingly ridiculous concerns but why not go the extra mile to make something look better?

AndreZA Posted March 4, 2009 Share IT makes it easier to find a puncture. But if you think that is anal. I had a bike shop rebuild my wheels because the valve hole did not line up with the writing on the hub. If I look through the valve hole, I want to see the logo on the hub. The writing on the rim must also face the same direction.

AndreZA Posted March 4, 2009 Share [quote name=holy rollerif i was the bike shop person' date=' you would've been wearing your silly wheel around your neck!?[/quote] It's called pride in your work. If you see a photo of a bike. The valve on the wheels are at the top and the the rim logos at the bottom. It just make sense to put the hub upright aswell. .. Took me 1.5 seconds to turn the wheel around and about three weeks to stop laughing!
AndreZA Posted March 4, 2009 Share IT makes it easier to find a puncture. Explain? I'm interested if you pull out a thorn opposite the logo on the tyre. You take the tube out and then you can automatically just check the opposite side of the valve. ...

DRIVETRAIN Posted March 4, 2009 Share Can't say here "how I mount" - but suffice to say when it comes to my tires I like the valve dead centre with the logo ... pride & looks & neatness is everything "DT"
