  1. 1. How do you Mount your tyres?

    • As long as the rotation direction is correct I am happy

    • I line up the valve and tyre logo because it looks good

When I mount my tyres to my rims I take extra special care to make sure

that the valve lines up with the center of the logo on the side of the

tyre. A few people laugh at me for this but i think it looks good. maybe its because i am an engineer.

Anyone else do this?

I'm an engineer too. I understand your seemingly ridiculous concerns Wink but why not go the extra mile to make something look better?

IT makes it easier to find a puncture.

But if you think that is anal. I had a bike shop rebuild my wheels because the valve hole did not line up with the writing on the hub. If I look through the valve hole, I want to see the logo on the hub. The writing on the rim must also face the same direction.

It's called pride in your work. If you see a photo of a bike. The valve on the wheels are at the top and the the rim logos at the bottom. It just make sense to put the hub upright aswell.

I'm gonna check my hubs tonight. They better line or I am gonna have sleepless nights and you are gonna be the man I blame.

Eish - now that's extreme.

I had a mate of limited mechanical ability change his tyre on a V brake rim three times cause he could not get the rotation of the tyre right.....

Took me 1.5 seconds to turn the wheel around and about three weeks to stop laughing!

Explain? I'm interested Tongue

if you pull out a thorn opposite the logo on the tyre. You take the tube out and then you can automatically just check the opposite side of the valve.

most bike shots are taking from the side. hub shots are detail shots, so you won't see them all together.

Thumbs%20Up

Can't say here "how I mount" - but suffice to say when it comes to my tires I like the valve dead centre with the logo ... pride & looks & neatness is everythingThumbs%20Up
