Cycle Lab in Hot Water

Okay I don't like this one bit but one thing I don't understand. They are only raising the RRP' date=' not the actual wholesale price. So it's still up to the shop to decide if they are selling at the inflated RRP or are willing to let it go for wholesale +10%. I still don't know why the distributor need to recommend at what price stuff needs to be sold. If I can sell 100 bikes at 10% profit and the next guy sell 50 bikes at 20% profit, we're still making the same amount of money, it's just that I will get more new business and sell more when people realise I sell cheaper.

in the minutes, the wholesalers were also urged to up their margin. rrp is used to inform potential customers of what they can expect to pay.

Isn't it funny how the CC chose to announce the formal investigation during the biggest week for Cycling in SA?  Probably pure coincidence.Wink

The timing is perfect, it ensures maximum exposure and public interest, there is no way this can now be Zuma'ed (Swept) under the carpet. Maybe this is why Cycle Lab been for sale lately drive the margin up=better looking balance sheet=higher selling price.

Thinking about the issues here, I suggest that we stop  speculating about this. What do you have to gain from grinding them into the ground?

We all make mistakes and have regrets about things that we should or should'nt have done in our lifetime.

(ps.  i am not linked to the companies been discussed)

I believe now we are getting on the right track!  No bigger publicity as now?  Could be the best move, or the worst...

I don't think we should be gleefully awaiting these guys' downfall. Remember both have also done a great deal for cycling.

Oh ??? indeed - but so has Tigerbrands for brown bread etc & they fixed prices ?? Fined R90 MILLION ... who are these that they should be excluded or treated with velvet gloves ?? It's still a crime !!!

Not saying I'm awaiting their downfall - but hell I'm also charged for everything concerning my cycling thank U very much !!!! Hell I dispise greedy people !!

...don't judge?  True!  But beware what you choose, especially when playing with money, it comes right back and bite you in the *ss!

Exploiting other people when you know there is a risk involved is something you have to deal with when you get caught.

All I can say is that I'm genuinely shocked by peoples' apparant acceptance of the matter... seems that there are a lot of people out there who are happy to just 'let it go'...

A sign of the times maybe?
