Your Assistance would be greatly appreciated

I have been riding a merida matts pro hard tail for 4 years, and am wanting to move to a full suspension frame. Looking at frame only and have been offered Felt virtue, BMC o2, and Trek Fuel8, all for around 11 k which is within my budget. These are new frames albeit o7 models.

Any thoughts, my requirement is for a multistage bike.

Many Thank

I am of the opinion that there are only two fullsussers that require your attention.Specialized with the brain rear shock,or the Scott(lockout on bar)Have had both and the suspension systems on both work great.Sytems that dont have a lock out just wastes energy!! smiley1.gif

the canaan's suspension linkage is a little diferent.  It changes geometry when going over rough terrain.  (lockout is a shock function, not a frame issue)

I just got a Trek fuel EX9. Awesome! climbs well, descends like a demon and with the Talas fork you can dial in the travel from 130mm down to 110mm or 90mm. RP23 rear shock with Pro pedal also rocks!

Mabe you should ask the guy what kind of riding he does first...

Do you Race all the time?

Or do you ride trails and Enjoy the great outdoors with mates rather then trying to pack in as many miles as possible.?

if you race and thats your main focus. The Specialised-the scott mabe- Giant Anthem (there were millions of these on the epic  if that means anything to anyone) You can get most aluminium frames for this price.

I would just get a santacruise superlight in white. (but thats me)

If youre in the second bracket then the world is your oyster and most 4-5 inch frames will serve you well. Take a look at what you like, and come back to us.Theres to many to list..

I guess the one big question is whether you are looking for a pure cross country dual susser or more of a dual susser trail bike or something in between?

Thanks for the responses

I try to ride about four days per week (12 hrs), up to now half road half trails around cape town. Road getting a little hectic, so will do most training off road. Racing mtb marathons and multi stage- if i can finally get an epic entry-
