You should See mine, I havnt used it for about a year ( I use a 1l bottle now) but I have had the last one for 8 years and It was black inside after leaving some Fit in it once! The Real potent Energy drinks go off after a day or two and start leaving deposit on anything, even new bottles.

Im really bad with those kind of things and after a long ride I use to just toss it into the cubourdLOL

if there is quite an amount in it, it won't take as quick to breakdown into things that might bite you as when you have the last 5ml at the bottom and let it sit in your bottle cage until next ride in two months.Dead

I put energy drink in my Hydrapak and never had problems with algea or any black stuff. All I do is run hot water through the tube and and ll is okey.

hehe mamparra, that'll only work if you wash it within a few days ... try leaving your daily vitamins mixed with whatever energy drink you topped up at the last race, and the coke on the way home in your bag for a day or 2 ... stuff starts growing in there !

i use jik. a little bit - less than 1 glob - with water, make the water run through the tube and leave overnight. next day all the black stuff is gone. just rinse it untill the chlorine-taste is out before your next ride ...

had the bladder since 2002 and no issues yet, except a lost bite-valve, but i don't think that was due to chemical reactions with the jik.

What are the suggestions to fix a small hole in the Camelbak bladder?

Just use to use a puncture repair kit or is there a repair kit available????

New bladder or let it leak. I haven found anything that sticks to the bladder. . for longer than 5min. . If the hole is really small drop a spot of superglue on it and see if that works. test on a excess spot

I have a cool trick for cleaning the tube. Get yourself some thin nylon cord like the type used for washing lines (or even thick string). Tie a few knots in the one end. Then let the pipe soak in hot water so it becomes pliable. You then thread the cord through the pipe, squirt in some washing liquid and pull the knot through the pipe. This method works really well for me.

I also dont wash the bladder with anything but dishwashing liquid as the chlorine taste REALLY sticks to the plastic. I rather just turn the bladder inside out and wash it as I would a plate.
