Whoteva Nancy. I'll give you a hand takiing them off.

Took mine off recently because I noticed that they had crimped my carbon straigh bars. Bought a new ali bar and decided to ride without them. I must first tell you that I first bought a Brahma bar in 1991 and have been riding bar ends ever since. Now that I have been riding bars without them I honestly think that they are overrated. I also found that using them numbed my pinkie as the bar/bar end corner dug into the soft flesh in the palm. Tried the Cane Creeks which I found too low.

But hell, if it works for you, DO IT!

6 pages and not one person has answered my question..... WTF's a riser bar?

ill take it one step further....  www.google.com .it educates me on quite a number of things and then you dont have to wait 6-7 pages for an answer from our local knowlagebase

3) The kinds of folks who retro-fit all mountain type riser bars to a XC designed flat bar bike are in denial' date=' and secretly wish they'd bought a bike made for having fun, and not one made for having "minimum rolling resistance".

Just remember to be VERY VERY careful when embarking on this whole MTB thing....

MTB'ers are the most pretentious bunch of posers of all the cyclist out there (road' date=' dirt, track)

Eg: Track cycling is just too glad if you want to join up... They will even make special arrangements for people to use their road cycles for training. H3LL they even have track bikes you can borrow at some of the tracks!

Road Cycling: They don't care about the look of things, the more garish and clashing the colour combos the better (at least the taxis should see them), Yellow booties? who cares! As long as their feet aren't freezing!

But MTBers.... they have all these rules to be a MTBer(some posted below):
You are NOT allowed bar ends on riser bars
You are NOT allowed yellow booties
You are NOT allowed to shave your legs
You are NOT allowed to wear lycra shorts

And the list goes on... these are just the few I can remember!
All these rules indicate just one thing: MASSIVE insecurities!!!

MTB'ers are insecure by nature, that is why they do not want to share the road with other vehicles. Roadies are the real heroes for taking on taxis, grannies, buses, trucks....

I have found that MTB'ers who bitch and moan the most are all roadies who do MTB "for fun" or "winter training". Honestly. Mtb'ers who MTB for mtb's sake don't know about lycra and riding without getting dirty and al that crap. Seriously.

Anyway.

Yip, I reckon you summed that up preety well. Also, the pretentious poser mtbers are so fockin slow. So really, when you think about it, they can whine about me all they like from the comfort of my dust trailWink
