ncr* Flash drives - 128 GB

A friend of mine is thinking of importing some flash drives in. Yes you did read right, they have 128 gigs of memory on them. They'll be a first in SA!

 

 

 

At the moment the biggest available is 32 GB ( stand to be corrected and they retail for R750.

 

 

 

My friend was throwing around figures of about R600 for a 128 GB flash drive.

 

 

 

SO! I just wanted to know if any hubbers would be interested? They are going to be a good brand. I think Sony.

I could go for a 128GB flash drive at that price .... if it's decent. Got burnt a while back buying a 2GB flash drive that's slower than a Stiffie Drive.

i'm game as well. However, I want a screen dump of the firmware to indicate it is actually 128GB. On Gumtree, they've been advertising 16GB drives that have at least 15GB corrupted. That is: they were fakes.

 

Maybe get us a pic and manufacturers name so we can screen them via a websearch.

The transfer rates of these will be the deciding factor...

I have an 8 GB, but it is slower than the turtles in MarcStockton's signature

 

So can you confirm the transfer rates(read and write) please? (This is not the same as whether it is USB1.1 or USB 2.0!!!)

Transfer rate will sway me easily. Got a 4GB which i have given to my 11yr old daughter..........waste of money.

 

Will like a review of the performance and some testimony from any known users..........

yip, that sounds like a fake drive to me eh. AFAIK, flash drives max out at 64 gigs.
