I use car shampoo.....works great.

Yeah, that's most times what I give my gardener to use. Unless it was a very wet ride, then I  let him use a wee bit of prepsol.

That is why the product from WIRX is great as it got the silicone base. Doesn't matter what you used you need to lubricate after washing and when you bike is dry.

I don't think it's a good idea to use one soap for everything. I reckon use degreaser for the chain and cassette (preferably off the bike) and something gentle for everything else.

In another thread Spinnekop said he swears by baby wipes for the cassette :)

Seriously, guys, dishwashing liquid is seriously corrosive. It will slowly but surely strip the paint from the frame. If you have to use it, use it on the drive train, nowhere else, and wash it off thoroughly. I can show you some frames that look old long before their time due to the owners washing them with dish liquid.

Curious question: I sprayed some Clean Green on my frame as well and left it for a few minutes to soak... now the black paint seems faded? Can I polish it out or something? Only use it on my drivetrain now, and sunlight on rest - but will follow tnt1's advice and stay clear!

might as well wash your car with Sunlight too if you feel ok enough to use it on your bike!

Seriously guys, take note of what TNT1 is saying, Sunlight is NO GOOD!!

try car polish to bring it back a bit, and protect it. Carful of which car polish, some attract dust a lot more than others, which on a mtb is not great.

Sunlights eats away the protective layer of the paint. Keep it in the kitchen. Also dont use it in your cars windowcleaner.
