I have never actually had BAD service fro any of the shops I have been to.

EPIC CYCLES DOORNKLOOF

FRITZ PIENAAR HATFIELD

WESTRAND CYCLES KRUGERSDORP

FRITZ PIENAAR IRENE

?

I think a lot of it has to do with the attitude of the customer. If the customer is unreasonably DEMANDING and always finding fault I am afraid that he/she is unlikely to get top service. If the customer is always friendly' date=' understanding and does not expect the impossible he/she will always get friendly excellent service in return. My experience anyway. All the above bike shops know who I am and treat me very well.?

Well said... and what if the customer comes into the shop with a positive attitude and the shop keeper is still "grumble bum"... does that mean that maybe he had a couple "grumble bum" customers before that? Confused

I think i drive my LBS up the wall. I have the shop's telephone and mobile numbers. I phone them every ten minutes for updates for eta's if i have ordered something or when my bicycle is in for a service and want to be informed of every detail Big%20smile

If you don't get the service you want from a shop, move on to another. Must say, there are many people out there that are too demanding who i wouldn't want to help either. Then just ask yourselve; do you want/need their stupid money/sh!t or; they are just not worth the hasle as your health is more important Confused Ouch

Bouwer Broers in Voortrekkers road in Gezina. They do not sell fancy bikes, they do not keep lots of spares, they do not have chrome and stainless steel in their shopfitting........ they do not drive Harley Davidsons but 14 Nissan Bakkies........ but they can get any spares and any other bike related thingies for you at a good price and they are willing to go the extra mile with smile and good service. They also stock amazing fishing and camping kit.

My point exactly.

I was in my local LBS (EPIC CYCLES) on Saturday when a rather arrogant irate looking MTBer walked (stormed) in DEMANDING to see the owner.(who was away at the time) Mr Important proceeded to climb into the young assistant about a tubeless tyre he maintained had been damaged while being fitted. The young assistant took the wind out of his sails by saying. " I don't know how that happened but we will replace it at our expense. You can fetch it on Monday."

Mr Important and his overbearing attitude didn't really deserve service like that. My opinion. TOP MARKS to the young assistant.

I would not worry too much about what hubbers say or not say about your shop. This is a recurring subject that crops up every now and again so that they can get all sweaty about relationships with their bike shops, where they get their hair and nails done, etc.

Now that is what I was talking about earlier - don't badmouth other people publicly.

I know Darrell and was shocked to see that his shop was mentioned - it does a lot for cycling and I have never heard anyone complain before about him or his shop.

The biggest thing that p!sses me off is that young commission driven salesperson who tries to sell something that a customer does not really need. I love to "deflate" people like that.

Ok Darrell, so in front of everyone on the hub, I'm publically saying sorry for bringing your name down ok... just after the incident with my neices bike and from what other people in our little "clan" have said about the shop.... ja.... but I do believe that Bring It On does very well..

I'll beat that, owner of LBS tells you that Coolheat do not have the parts in stock to repair your XTR d?railleur. Only to later forget the conversation took place when confronted by Coolheat!!! Angry

One can only guess at the motives.
