Wild West Road Ride

What the h3ck. 110 km can only make me a little stronger.

Seems Ox wants to get his money's worth for the route so let's go the whole nine yards. (110 km.)

It will be somewhat of a challenge for me. Can only hurt a little and for a few days.

And if I can still walk the next day, I will see if I can join AndyR in the SBR.

Aah, but if WW wants to do it with Thug, then I'm sure he'll agree. LOL

Parts of this ride are starting to smell distinctly like a typical army OPF*K.  I know my capabilities and this route together with the additional distance of 110km no longer makes this an enjoyable Saturday morning ride.  Sorry guys I will be missing this "Little" ride.

I think we should rather cut the section over Beyers Naude. Just now everybody get scared away...

For those who get to the end, and feel that they still have something in the tank... well... they should be welcome to proceed to Muldersdrift, M5 and back to Riverstone Lodge.

I'l 'fix' my erroneous post from last night EmbarrassedThumbs%20Up

So the 'official' distance is back to 94 km.

I was looking forward to being drilled into the tar and going to ICU for a three day recovery nap after this Wild West Epic.

Oxman. The group is large and will be difficult to control. One or two dropping out is not a crisis.

If in doubt, put it to a vote. Also bear in mind stop streets, Traffic lights and other issues that may make it unsafe for  large group. I don't know the area well enough to make that judgement.

Keep the distance and maybe loose one or two. No biggie. Initially I was temped to bail when I saw 110, but what the heck, how many 110 km training rides are there?

Nanosec Nialls, you still in?

Western Flyer, are you definitely out?

The distance is 94 now - the 110 is an add-on now

I would suggest leaving it out altogether. The idea was to stop at Riverstone for coffee after so if some carry on and do another loop we will be split up.

We will be riding there from Bryanston so if anyone wants to join us for about 160km p.m. me for times and meeting places etc. WW I will mail you separately.

Hey Ox' date=' can you find just another 0.7?Wink

Then it can be known as the WW 94.7.

There is a biggish traffic circle. You are welcome to go around it about 7 times LOL

Slave, not too worry - the 94.7 isnt actually 94.7 k's, more like 91 or something. So this 94 is already over distance, and its still 5 months away - ample time to train that extra 700 m's.

Maybe keep the distance and those who want to do the extra bit can. I am pretty keen to as I don't often get the opportunity to even do 94km training ride so would like to do the longer distance. Only two little bumps more and less than 10 km. Slave, Trubie you in?

Those who do the shorter distance can organise the coffee so long.

I'm thinking of cycling from home(2x20km extra), so the coffee break will be much appreciated smiley4.gif
