nolipoli Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 Okay so my wife gets this mail from Tread Mag (I subscribed) about a ladies trail ride and tea. Fantastic idea!!! She is really keen to get some female riding buddies and this seems like a good place to start. The only problem is that it happens every 1st Wednesday of the month at 9h00. Do real 'ladies' not ride on weekends? Anyway, what could be a great idea looks doomed to limited success, because it is scheduled to exclude the majority of normal women. Am I being too critical?
intern Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 Hey Nolipoli Truth of the matter is that my g/f is usually racing on the weekend so she cannot do a social ride then. The two Tread ladies, being her and Joanne B, instead put on an event which includes free tea and cake (women, huh) and a free gift but ask for people to make some time in their diary for. It does mean some cannot get out of work which is definitely unfortunate, but at least our Tread girls are trying to do something outside of the race calendar...

So for them this would be perfect! Now, if the blokes would do something similar, but with a beer stop

calabash Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 I run an all ladies ride in Dinokeng every wednesday afternoon at 4.30. A lot of non-cyclists also join us and really make an afternoon of it.

Once a month is not too bad to take some time off. Hog, I think you should stay away. Some of these ladies will embarass you with their skills. You will be sent packing with your tail between your legs.
