Wannabe Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 How did your ride go this morning? Woke up at 05hoo with rain streaming down. Did not want to go out in the wet and risk a fall, falling sick or messing up my bike. Did a ride last year (still on my old bike) in streaming rain. Was shocked to see what my bike looked like when I got home. Most Mtb'ikers would have been proud if their bikes looked like that after a wet ride. Shudder to think of how it would mess up components or accelerate wear and tear.

Wannabe Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 Yes I do. But you must still do a ride of however much km in the rain before you get home to clean up. It is during that time that the damage occur. In my eyes it is not justified.

Only got rain again coming through K/River again going back to D'ville. I got a front wheel flat too - piece of glass I didn't even see because of the wet, shiny road on Bottlery. 'Dale, will mail you and Wannabe my post race write up after lunch. I feel the fatigue in my legs climbing the stairs to the house. We could have done a 6:15ish if we never had so many technicals.
