Just need to sort out my front wheel. Took it into the shop and the wheel was seriously out of alignment. The hub is finished. Looks like I need to get a new wheel. Need to scrounge a bit for some extra cash. Eish

Anybody not racing this Sunday and the next one, that will be interested in a relaxed ride on the Saturdays?

Not at the crack of dawn, and between 60-80km. Avg 25km/h.

Had a very nice high cadence ride of 65 km this morning. Even though I managed 28 km/h avg on my own, there is a lot of work to be done before I will be in any kind of form.

Where were you riding?? I did 85 kays on my own and suffered most of the way. First long ride back since August and a triple bout of flu! I didn't dodge a climb though and managed to do some good hill work!

Flat road. From my home down Fairtrees, Old Oak and then onto Bottelary. Onto R304 up to Klipheuwel and then back on Klipheuwel rd. NO CLIMBS, but mostly into the little bit of Westerly wind that was blowing.

I was also sick with two bouts of the flu since August. Suffered with the Karoo to Coast, but now I need to get my road legs back.

Riding in wind always adds some extra effort! Nice work!

 

Mine was Claremont to Hout Bay over the nek, over Chappies to Noordhoek, first left towards Ou Kaapse up the little hill and the right back towards Sun Valley before turning onto the main climb, right again back over Chappies from this direction, over Suikerbossie, into Camps Bay, up the Glen all the way to the top of Signal Hill parking, down Kloofnek into the city and left into Strand str all along lower main through Campground road back towards Claremont. Legs are toast but happy to put the mileage and climbing in! Rewarded myself with a juicy Rump steak about 15 mins ago. Good luck with your prep. You still riding DC?? Yep, still in it, but not to win it! Doing a slow cruise effort this year. If it was an all out effort I would've been forced to bail, cos there's no way I can make up the training in time.
