I'm going for a ride tomorrow morning at 5:15am.

Route is as follows:

Meet at Durbanville HS Circle, then St Johns to Tiekie Draai, Plattekloof Road, Jip De Jager, and back.

Pace is chillaxed - I need to stretch the legs after a few tumbles on the mtb yesterday blush.png

Let me know who is in! biggrin.png

Sorry DizzyLizzy; saw this too late. Looks like a nice route. Let me know if you do it again. I am keen to join for early morning ride from Durbanville (CWC group a bit fast for me)

Hi Guys - question:

I'm have a weekend in Paternoster this weekend and want to cycle there on Friday morning via R27. My question - is this a safe road to cycle on? Any route suggestions from Durbanville?

Awesome, I'll probably only go out again next week. What time would you prefer to ride?

Btw, Tankman said that it's probably better to join the CWC crowd on a Thursday because they're all hurting by then... ph34r.png

I guess a lot of cars will be using that road from Friday, but it should be relatively safe. The only thing is that it's a single lane so cars pull off in the yellow lane for cars to over-take them.

I would go past Philadelphia, over the N7, north on the R304/R307, right up through Darling and on the R315 across to the R27. Then you can do a short bit on the R27 and then through the reserve to Langebaan and back roads (Saldanha etc.) to Paternoster?

Meeting at 5:30 am would work for me. I can do about 90 mins to arrive back at 7 am and make it to work tongue.png . Dunno about the CWC group. From what I hear they are pretty fast......

Spoke to Tankman yesterday. They avg about 31km/h at the end of their ride. Only one real hilly section (Polkadraai), rest is flat. Person can sit nicely in the bunch and get a real good workout.

I'm joining them next Tuesday morning.
