I just saw the CWC add. How can they sell a Dura Ace 7900 groupset at R16 500 while the reccomended retail from the local agents is R26 000!! Do the groupset from the local agents come with some ky jellie, cause you'll need it for the shafting they give you!! Im sure the cost to the cycling shops is more than R16 500.

 

Obviously CWC dont get stock from the local guys, but how can these guys justify selling something at 10 grand more than someone else.

don't care, all I know is if I was lookng for a Dura groupset CWC is where I would buy it.

because they can and there are people willing to pay for it. Not everybody shops around for bargains.

If you find something cheaper, be happy about it and enjoy. Some other nut will pay more for it because he adds the "value" to the price he paid for it and it looks cooler on his 100K bike - his buddies buy at the same place so they compete with how expensive they can go

Thats because shimano have a sugested markup of 70% in their pricelist so even if your shop gives you huge discount you still getting shafted

The recommended retail of R26 000 is with a 50% percent markup. I asked around for some prices and one guy at a shop showed me.

F knows - asked some other shop what they will ask for a old DA 7800 set and the price was 15K!! At CWC its around 11K.

 

Not going to buy that - just that I could remember the price from CWC to compare.

look at DR fees, accountants, then the worst private lawyers.

Any service Rape the buyer. No one out there starts a business to play even at the end of the day.

 

Maybe that some stuff at the some shop will be cheaper while as other stuff more expensive so on average the shop makes a profit. Some shops ignore that and just makes 100% on everything.

 

At least we have CWC to make the decision a bit easier price wise.  Thanx guys.
