Retro Bicycle Thread

I wish it was, but I don't think so, it looks suspiciously like the SA made ones. No chrome anywhere.

I've just put it into storage, so can't even take a pic.

Just thinking!!!!

Us old guys and guys that like old bikes, use the interwebs a lot to determine the age of components, frames, wheels etc.

I have a list of sites in my favourites that I go to to check dates, colours, components, values etc etc.

But I'm sure, even with all the time I've spent on the webs, that there are many, many more.

For instance, I've just found this one:

http://www.velo-retro.com/

Is it worth starting a new thread for sites with info on the interwebs????

Under which section .... TECH SHACK???

Or should we use this thread?

I'm happy to copy my FAVOURITES folder to this thread, so you can add any you don't have.

Thoughts??

I know there are duplicates, but I'm an untidy person!!!

And of course, there is the LINKS page on many of these sites.

Yeah they are awesome...I used to have the matching TT bike as well. But my dad sold it when I was still in school.

I really cant wait to get mine back on the road

I finally got my bike back. :w00t: :w00t: It's not in the greatest cosmetic condition, but I can now spend time and get it 100%. Will be riding it for the first time in many years tomorrow at the 94.7. Actually the last time I road it was at the '99 94.7 race. Will have do a better job next time on the photo's.

Took old Hercules for a spin at Moonlight Mass last night. Slow and heavy with dodgy brakes doesn't make for easy crowd riding. It made up with attitude though.

Heavy maybe, but not necessarily slow ... I have the scars to prove it (once on/off a black with gold pin-striped equivalent)
