I may have a 7 speed freewheel body that you can screw onto your dura ace hub.

Hey quintonb - I don't have a dura ace rear hub,I only have a front one at the moment. Going to use a shimano 600 6402 rear hub. Do you think the dura ace 7sp freewheel body will fit it?

Hi. Sorry misunderstood that part.

You should just be able to unscrew the existing freewheel body and screw the 7 speed one on. I have done it on wheels before. Taken the uniglide body off and put a hyperglide body on. The problem with uniglide is getting cassettes.

Hope I am understanding what you want to do.

@quintonb - no worries, i more than likely going to need the freewheel body when I find a dura ace rear hub!

My 1968 Cinelli "Special Corsa" Pista

All I need is the original stem, bars and wheels....

Long term project, parts available at a premium and I'm a poor collector :)

Please tell me that its in your way and that you want to sell it for a bargain. ( and that the frame size is allot bigger in real life than appears in the picture )

Q

If that was mine I'd avoid "over restoring" it - would not repaint....also those campy pista gruppo centrale's don't come cheaply!

My Vitus, work in progress. Used a few Campy parts that were lying about. The hubs are Dura Ace and need to be swopped out when I have some RRRRR's or some time/patience. Also need some Campy gum hoods but doubt any in SA? Going to try stitching some leather hoods on to the levers in the interim (thanks Didi).

You guys are lucky!!

Still looking for a nice (cheap) 979. Had one once upon a time, bought from Colorado Cyclist, but sold it to put a roof on my house!!!

Have 987 and a 992, but waiting for the 979.

Yeah have been in 2 minds as to exactly how I am going to approach the frame. I think I am going along your lines of leaving it as is.

I have original 170 campag pista cranks from a donor bike. The original bars and stem were sold the day before I bought this frame... Wait for it.... For R500. Yip the guy stripped the bike down and sold parts separately...

If anyone has a cinelli pista steel stem(120mm), the one with the screwed on cinelli badge... Please let me know. And also steel cinelli pista bars.

I love those vitus bikes - look here for some campy gum hoods - planning on hooking some for myself, maybe we get 2 and save a bit on shipping? it looks expensive but way cheaper than rocking horse poo!
