Thanks LeTurbo,

I have been hunting through all their old bits with no luck which is why I asked here. Although maybe I should start my own thread where more people would see it, what do you think?

I am new here so didn't want to seem too pushy.

Barry

To be honest, I think you have more chance of finding a 39 tooth chainring.

Wide range freewheels were not common back a long, long time ago!

But, probably your easiest solution is to find an old, early Shimano cassette hub/wheel (6 or 7 spd)  very, very easy to find, and make your own cassette. If this is allowed, though I don't see why not, they came in about 1984. Suntour ones were even before that.

You can make a cassette from an MTB cassette, with a bit of filing.

Hi Barry, like Hey You said above, you can make a casette to work for you. Like Le Turbo said, Woodstock Cycleworks are the people to do that filing and mixing and matching for you if you (like me) are to scared to do it yourself.

After months and hour I'm almost on the home stretch just wheels n chain and I should be there. Picked up this frame at woodstock cycle works then resprayed got a sweet chorus 10 speed Groupset and now all I need is a wheel set and chain to complete it off.

I have a set of Mavic CXP30s on Campagnolo hubs with a 10 speed Campy freebody to spare if you are interested. You are welcome to pm me. (I got such a great wheel deal from Le Turbo last year, that perhaps it is time to pay it forward)

DJR ... I'm keen on that freewheel body, if it's available separately.  I know they come in 2 different axle thicknesses, so would just need to establish which you have.  Please let me know - thanks.

Thanks, Hey You and DJR, I had a look at an old mountain bike I use around town and that has a 7 speed cassette with 30t cog so I could just get a rim and have a wheel built using that hub (or one like it) genius solution I was too busy looking for bits for my existing wheel set.

So guys and girls in Johannesburg having the next retro bike ride on Sunday am. Tweaking the Deltas so I can stop at least once or twice. Looking forward to the ride and seeing a few familiar faces again.

Those cables look awfully familiar!

Between the handlebar clamp on the alter stem, is there a gap? Or would that indicate your bar clamp size is too big?

Heh, heh ... I too am familiar with the condition, when ones memory becomes a forgetory.  I'll measure that axle tonight and let you know.

Thanks.

The ITM bar fits the Alter stem perfectly. The steerer adapter is work in progress!

Mine doesn't seem to want to stay still and hates being tightened! I'm going to try a new bolt/wedge this weekend and see what happens. Other than that, the Daccordi should finally be complete by Monday!

(I may need decals for Ghibli disc though - tyerone?)
