Have been discontinued for a while - probably 30years or so.

my brother had one in the 70s, and that's the last one I saw.

on the web there are conflicting reports (each of which may be true) as to the genealogy of the brand. Apparently they were made under the TI umbrella by Raleigh, as well as being manufactured as a stand-alone company.

the "silverlight" has grown on me. Especially the saddle and the red tape. noice.

Cheers, man

The red tape and honey saddle is me moving away from black everything- first brown saddle I have ever owned.

I really enjoy the old bikes, especially in 531, as this suits my build (I'm never goIng to be small!)

I have had true lightweight bikes in the past, but I find the lateral flex in some of these old bikes to be too much - you know, when you lay down power in a sprint out of the saddle, and you can immediately hear the front derailleur rubbing.

Some beautiful bikes on this thread.

Very inspiring.

MS> What does the repair job look like?

Sorry for the slow reply. Don't get onto the hub much these days.

That right there is an argument against the progress that modern frame materials have undergone.

Hello, fellow retro enthusiasts.

Here is my latest project:

Early 1990s Francois DuToit hand-made frame

Reynolds 653 tubeset

Tange headset

Pro handlebars

ITM stem

105 cranks

Suntour shifters (Japanese, not Taiwanese)

I have mixed and matched some stuff I had lying around:

Tiagra 9sp RD

105 FD

Shimano 8spd (12-28) cassette

Sram 8sp chain.

While not as pretty as my other bike posted here, this bike fits me as if it were made to measure, is super comfortable, and everything works perfectly.

I might change the shifters for Shimano if I can locate some. Anyone?

Thanks.

Ciocc, prononced..... Church, have recently relaunched their once popular San Cristobal frame. Columbus tubing, chrome rear stays, lugs and fork.......priceless.

Enquiries welcome. PM for more details.

I've got some 8 speed Shimano 600 DT shifters somewhere, will dig around tonight and look for them.
