Peewee1 Posted August 28, 2012 Share Hey guys Inherited this Hansom bike from my very generous cousin. Spent some time stripping and cleaning up all the bits and pieces and had the frame powder coated because of some surface rust. Never been on a road bike before until last week, very strange coming from a MTB. Apart from a few parts that needed replacing all is good. Will be using it at Critical Mass this Friday. Below are the before photos.
Peewee1 Posted August 28, 2012 Share This is what I have done so far. Polished everything as best I could, just need to setup the brakes. Edited August 28, 2012 by Peewee1
Chro Mo Posted August 28, 2012 Share Very nice job! My Hansom is a few pages back. Love the old SA bikes. Enjoy and ride safe!

After you are done with the brakes I assume you will make the saddle level? Edited August 28, 2012 by Let's Ride

HeartCoppi Posted August 29, 2012 Share Enjoy Peewee1.I am drooling at those immaculate rims. The braking surfaces look like new. What have you done with the old tyres?
Peewee1 Posted August 29, 2012 Share I still have them. But they had some strange gashes in the rubber and the sidewalls were brittle. Kept them to find out if they're still ok.

HeartCoppi Posted August 30, 2012 Share Have always had a thing for pelten shade, and buy it wherever I can. I have recently even acquired the rarely seen green issue. Edited August 30, 2012 by HeartCoppi
