I guess no one on the hub rides that track i'm working on cos no thanks (yet!) for that lovely little berm. And to think now i have to go maintain it! aaargh. actually, i want it a bit bigger, cos that section can be hit harder if the berm had a higher edge. Just dont fancy the assbreaking labour involved.. <_< meh.

Hey man I'd like to check out the trail at some stage, the photo's looks really cool. Just didnt find the time to do so yet. Can you perhaps provide us with some directions of exactly where on signal hill the trail starts? Keep up the good work :D

think i need to post some pics. because i think saint crancks are to wide for my bike aswell

perhaps some one can help me. i have an 2003 v10 frame.

on this i tried to mount some saint crancks with an old mhd chain device.

my LBS said the crank arms are to wide to line it up so what they tried to do is put in some spacers to try and line up the chaindevice and blade but it still did not work.

i think the bb is a 83mm with extra thread.

the e-thirtten can bolt to the frame via the bb or to iscg mounts i think. lbs are toscared to take a drill and a saw to a chainguide. 'n boer maak 'n plan. sometimes better than shimano

i cant use my e-13 chain guide because it can only bolt to the frame.and my frame doesn't have those mounts. so treid to use the old MHD chain device but it is not lining up because the saint cranks are to wide and the bb is running out of thread with al the spacers.

thanks DHK!

you think some bike shop might have one in stock?

what to do about the width of the cranks?

you think a longer BB will help, perhaps a race face 100mm?

I don't know but I'd give the E13 a try as they have a few spacers that you could try align it with. I doubt any of the LBS would stock these plates, you could maybe try get one to order it for you.

Diepseun,

Go home tonight and do the following:-

1.) Flip the bike upside down and measure the width of the bottom of the BB shell. I guess it will either be 68mm or 73mm. If you have an 83mm crank, you will not be able to get your chainline set up properly. If this is the case, try and sell that crank and get a 68-73mm Crankset.

2.) I take it your frame does not have ISCG mounts, so the e-13 chainguides do have the mountings which fit around your BB cups instead of one of the spacers. Just make sure you get the right sized one as there are 2 sizes, which the guys mentioned to you. ISCG 05 and old ISCG. If you tell me which size guide you have, I may have an adapter at home for you.

Take some photos and post them, so we can visualise your dilemma.

Good luck bud.
