Did you have a bad day? seems like somebody pissed in your porage.

wanker

Just what I meant by you have to earn your respect
You are a wanker because you are generalising and you are just looking for  attention. You know what the clubs policy is' date=' you say as much, but the club can't enforce policies on individuals any more than your ranting on here will.

I won't ride with certain individuals in my club because of exactly this sort of behavior but I don't take the piss out of every other individual that is a club member because of it.

And I really don't need your respect.

Windbreaker. I totaly agree with you, I only ride with a select few because of the manner in which we ride. SAFELY. I also marshall at the Cycle Lab JHB. Why the hell do all you perfect do gooders not help out as a marshall from time to time.

Maybe it was the prick with two MTB's on the back of his car that did a u-turn right in front of me on Simonstown main road this morning. What can I say - it's not only roadies.

I've said it many times on this forum, arsehole motorists make arsehole cyclists and vice versa. Ditto for MTB'ers except that they can chirp sh*t from a safe corner.

What I want to understand, and ask..... "Regard"is :? was your life being put into any danger, by said cyclist....if not....then why don't you shut up and go ride in the mud...

Us roadies moan about the cars...as a matter of fact.. I have a car and pay a license..if I am not using my car on the road I might as well ride my bike and use the SAME space as my car....I paid for it anyway.....Cliffhanger2009-08-16 10:33:42

Simple: e-mail CL Pretoria or wherever it is stemming from and let them know of the ****up and then they can maybe relay it back to the herd for next time.

Silly argument cause CL members will stick up for their club cause thats what they do and the others will say they suck nuts or whatever but I can be pretty sure that a little rant on here is not going to change the way CL ride 2,4,5 or even 3190410940931 abreast on the road.

If CL Pretoria (or anyone else for that matter) decide to ride 90902491024 abreast and someone gets knocked over and killed then thats their problem not ours just make sure you follow the safety guidelines.

colonel - it IS my problem. i commute (sometimes) and although i generally keep on dirt, there are places where i have to share the road with cars. i need all the goodwill i can get. if the motorist is irritated because of behaviour of one or 2 cyclists, he might take it out on me.

some mountain bikers have ventured on tar, and some roadies have dabbled off road, so its not us against them, we're on the same side! (aren't we?)

smiley32.gif Fully agree with you...I don't think that CL should be REPORTED here anyway...

The way I see it these days is, each person have to look after his own safety....."Regard" why don't you also moan about every parent that allow his kid to stand on the front seat of the car?

Worry about yourself first.

Nope, some of us just refuse to ride with the culprits. And let's be clear it definitely is not just CL. EVERY club has arsehole cyclists.

Next thing you will say is that I should not complain about bad service in a restaurant as the waiter might take it out on you?

Silly argument!!!

Hey colonel, I clearly recall riding 3&4 abreast with you (and have the pictures to prove it Wink). My point being that the real issue here is not about riding abreast because in some instances it is perfectly acceptable and it is not necessarily inconsiderate under many circumstances. Believe it MTB'ers - it's true.

If riding abreast is being inconsiderate or unsafe then it is wrong.

Mrs C always goes on about kids standing on and between car seats and I say the same thing: Its not your child so its not your problem, worry about yourself.

you have to have strong individuals in your club who aren't scared to take aside the wrongdoers and tell them in private to stop doing what they are doing. we repeat before every training ride that when there is no hard shoulder then it is single file.period.no arguments.so far we have had no incidents with motorists.touch wood.

You had punctures cause you were in the bush and I was on the road!!

I know its a issue and an unsafe one but the point it is get hold of the club and ask for feedback they recieve or even better fine the assholes.

ps: I dont ride abreast nowadays cause I train when everyones at work.... smiley9.gif smiley9.gif smiley9.gif
