Marius Posted April 24, 2007 Posted April 24, 2007 Buff, just had a look at them, they look nice, I like the thread patern but I don't like the fact that they are very narrow and very light, at 375grams I would not use them, I've only had regrets when using light weight tyres.
Marius Posted April 24, 2007 Posted April 24, 2007 Thx Ifly, I think I might also try then after the Karma's, will probably not go so lekker if I put a tOMAC Small block 2.35 on the front and a Kenda Karma at the back?
AndreZA Posted April 24, 2007 Posted April 24, 2007 Marius' date=' the Nevegals go for R300[/quote']  I priced the non-ust one from Westdene for R260. Â
GoLefty!! Posted April 24, 2007 Posted April 24, 2007 Ya they go fro somewhere between R250 and R320 at variuosu stores. Killer Bee's are not trail tyres. They are excellent race or mararthon tyres.I used them at Tokai which is pretty sandy and has hard pack, roots, slick rock, rough rock, clay, sand, slate, and they worked better than the Maxxis I used many moons ago. and these are the 2.00 which look like they're actually 1.95's!!  Small block 8 is designed for similar type of use as the Killer Bee. Alsoa soft compound tyre with lots of little grippy knobs to creduce tread squirm. Will be trying them out for Transbaviaans.
Marius Posted April 24, 2007 Posted April 24, 2007 and the Karma's and Small Block 8's, how much do they go for and were else can we buy them??
Brakkies Sport Fotos Posted April 24, 2007 Posted April 24, 2007 http://www.sportsdirect.co.za/?Task=Category&CategoryID=31400&HeadingText=Kenda
GoLefty!! Posted April 24, 2007 Posted April 24, 2007 Any shop that stcks Omnico's product range will have or be able to obtain within 5days Small block 8 or Karma in any config they make.
Buff Posted April 24, 2007 Posted April 24, 2007 Spoke to Mark earlier, he can get hold of Kenda's. No Karma's in stock at the moment, expecting in 2 weeks time... R320 before discount (UST). I'm gonna try running a Karma up front & Nevegal at the back.
GoLefty!! Posted April 24, 2007 Posted April 24, 2007 I would not do it that way. Nevegal rolls like lead on the rear. Better to have the faster rolling tyre on the back where theres more weight and the Nevegal on the front.
MintSauce Posted April 24, 2007 Posted April 24, 2007 I found the Nevegal lacking in straight line grip on the back when installed in the direction of the arrow....might work better the other way round.  Running the Blue Groove as mentioned earlier with much better results   MintSauce2007-04-24 10:25:14
Marius Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 Ok, Just got my Kenda Karma's Last night, was going to do the conversion after work today but Lilo jumped the gun and did it on her own this morning before work!! <?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> Soooo my dear friends....how maybe of your girlfriends can do that, hu hu hu!?!?!? Did not think so, I think congratulations is in order!   Â
AndreZA Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 I got Maxxis Ignitors yesterday. Was a bitch to fit but it's on now. Will try them this weekend and give some feedback on Monday. Â
Buff Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007  I'm suitably impressed Marius, you've got a good one there !!! Lefty, I read somewhere that the Nevegal is harder wearing than the Karma's so figured I put the soft/more grippy tire up front for tracking & cornering. Either way though, I'll try them both ways and check the results.
scotty Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 I got Maxxis Ignitors yesterday. Was a bitch to fit but it's on now. Will try them this weekend and give some feedback on Monday.    Where did you get them from ???
Marius Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 Thx Buff, I think so too! Mampara, I'll be doing a little race on them tomorrow and will also give some feed back on how they performed, should be interesting!
