got this request from the D&D mailinglist a while ago, i suggested

he post it here, but haven't seen it (and forgive me if i missed it). if you have ideas, pm me for

andries' contact details - i'll also collate responses here and send to him.

Unfortunately for me, my lack of cycling abilities and time, keeps me

from joining this ?in-the-dark? group, but do enjoy all the additional

info that is shared

I have an unusual request

I have been contacted by a member from the Tswane counsel regarding

bicycles and cycling

The Tswane counsel is planning to host a ?Bicycle Awareness Month?

during the month of October 2009.

Because of recent accidents, in and around Pretoria, may it be the

more affluent suburbs or the informal areas, they need to educate the

general public

The idea is to get bicycle clubs involved with education and ?general

bicycling techniques?. I think that they might even like to offer

bicycles as alternative transport to some of the ?poorer? communities

Is there anyone currently involved with similar practises that can

help even more, or have you got positive ideas that can be implemented

in the future. Are some of you interested to actively be involved with

physical training ?ndabas?

Thank you for any help

Regards

Andries

sounds interesting.  Maybe get the motorcyclists involved.  They are definitely more organised than the cyclists.  THINKBIKE has been building capacity in this area.

I feel the only skill that roadies can provide is riding abreast and showing the middle finger.Wink

What happened to you?  Once a roadie.....you lead us up the hills of Pretoria riding abreast and showing fingers to all concerned.

Now you have become a sour basher of all cycling on tar.

It is getting a bit tedious......

Shame man.  Maybe you should consider moving to Cape Town.....at least there you'll have the mountain to keep your attention......

Spidy, I take it that you have either lost your sense of humour, or are completely blind.

How many times must I paste this icon after a statement WinkWinkWinkWinkWinkWinkWinkWinkWink to indicate that I am pulling your leg?
