A brilliant and stylish left-handed batsmen who would have played more test matches had the sports boycott not been in place.

 

I remember watching him playing with Bunter Barlow, Denys Hobson, Gavin Phful (sp?) in a strong Province X1 that had many a great tussle against Clive Rice's mean machine.

 

RIP & condolences to the Ackerman family.

An exemplary cricketer and a brave and true commentator whose commentary was based on superb knowledge of and what was best for the game and never on what was best for the politicians and suits that run the game. Never a lackey!!
