RIP very young age 62 !!!!

A brilliant and stylish left-handed batsmen who would have played more test matches had the sports boycott not been in place.

 

I remember watching him playing with Bunter Barlow, Denys Hobson, Gavin Phful (sp?) in a strong Province X1 that had many a great tussle against Clive Rice's mean machine.

Can't say I really remember his playing days but will definitely miss his commentating, especially those on Radio 2000.

I heard on the news this mornig that he died after a long sick bed, what did he die of, cancer?

An exemplary cricketer and a brave and true commentator whose commentary was based on superb knowledge of and what was best for the game and never on what was best for the politicians and suits that run the game. Never a lackey!!
