Right Front? Left Front? Brake help please.

I got a road bike to do a little tarmac training and the Left Brake lever pulls the front brakes, which is different from my Mountain Bike!!

The road bike looks hectic to change around, but I have been riding my MTB for years and am a little nervous of changing that around. It also has hydraulic discs which makes it painful too.

I know that I have to change one of them, But I don't know which.

Does anyone have any experience in this?

I come from motorcycle background I could not get to grips with the front brake being on the left (I tried for 2 months) and got my hoses swopped so the front brake is on the right side lever.

You have to be comfortable with your set up so stick with the set up you find natural and convert the other to match.

I have SLX hydraulic brakes its a simple case of unscrewing the 2 hoses swopping them over and a quick bleed.

"well Jade at coolheat did mine and it was so quickBig%20smilemight of took me a bit longerEmbarrassed"

I dont know whats involved on the road bike so cant offer much advice there

I am struggling getting to grips with the left pulling the front. Due to motorcycles as well. I would say go with what you have been using for the past ten years because it will take a while to break that habit.

I want my strongest' date=' most dextrous hand to operate the bike's most useful and powerful brake. That's why my front brake is on the right. I'm right-handed.

Well I'm lazy. Right handed, but my brakes came bled left /front. Road bike came the same way.

To be honest I can ride either way quite happily.

Change the road brakes around, its less messy than the hydraulic units and if you're carefull peeling the bar tape away you won't need to buy any more.

Right front is right..... just make sure all your bikes are the same or that bad taste in your mouth may be the last thing you taste!!!!!!!!!!

It's a sign that you should sell the road bike and ride more MTB!

Seriously though, they're cable brakes. How difficult can it possibly be?
