Dibles Posted November 6, 2009 Author Posted November 6, 2009 If you pay R120 you can become a "Friend of the Monument" member which entitles you to free entry for a year. I think it is pro-rata as I paid R50 at the end of October and it is valid until March next year.

Have yet to be attacked by horse flies at the VTM. Plenty of horses around though. Also spotted some other animals.

I think its a totally offensive monument and if it isn't demolished should at least be renamed to something fitting our new democracy. Perhaps it should be renamed to commemorate the lives of those fallen struggle heroes.

So there is a monument to commemorate some dutch/afrikaans people that trekked half way across to country to find a better life that were racist - what is the big deal??? Take less offense - ride more bicycle I say.
