My wife came stone last. It was only myself and my little daughter left at the finish line to welcome her in. 5h24mins to complete the 50k.

I am very proud of her for finishing smiley32.gif

I would have paid big money to see the look of pride and joy on your daughters face.

Well done to your wife Muxman.

This is what makes our sport awesome.

Great Timing does the timing on a number of MTB events. Eg Cape Pioneer.

The system consist of the numbers being read (and recorded) at the finish line & captured onto a database. (I think this is uploaded to Racetec)

On Saturday there was a manual BACKUP capture (written) aprox 50m down.

This way everybody who did the 50km & 25km event should (eventually) get a time. (Must admit it is taking longer than normal.)

MTB officials like to keep it simple & low tech.

No chip to remember or to loose in the mud...

I've just read a review of the Trance X1 (Giant) - http://www.tredzblog.co.uk/2008/02/giant-review.html

"Before we get into the good stuff it?s worth mentioning that it seemed to be the bike that had more people coming off it than any other."

So it wasn't my fault!!!!! WinkClapWink

I crashed out at around 46.5k CryAngryCry

I thought my front was running low (slow puncture)' date=' but did not want to stopClown and then it bit meOuch So I finished the race, first in the medics truct, and then in the recovery truck. If anyone helped me thanks (don't really remember much before getting out of the medics truck).
