 Dear Cyclist

We are celebrating a major court victory for Chris Willemse Cycles and have
decided that our valued customers should also share in our delight by slashing
prices on Mavic components to the bone.

Some of our competitors were
obviously unhappy about the fact that they could not compete with the discounted
prices on Mavic products which CWC offered for sale as a consequence of which,
they laid a complaint with Salomon SAS, the manufacturer of Mavic components.
When Salomon realised that CWC was not prepared to stop selling Mavic products
at discounted prices, they saw fit to lay a charge against CWC for allegedly
selling counterfeit Mavic components. This was obviously done in an attempt to
discredit CWC.

On the day of the hearing Salomon realised that they would
not succeed in persuading the court that CWC is dealing in counterfeit goods and
withdrew the charges. Instead, they sought to persuade the court that CWC had
applied a false trade description to Mavic components. It took the court only 90
minutes after having listened to the evidence of a representative from Dragons
CC as well as the attorney of Salomon to arrive at the conclusion that there is
no truth whatsoever in these allegations and to acquit CWC on all
charges.

It has, and will always been the policy of CWC to offer GENIUNE
products for sale at discounted prices and we will continue to do so in the
future We want you to share in our victory by taking advantage of these
substantially reduced prices on the following products...

Go well

Chris

I don't understand this. What did Mavic have to say about the whole situation? How is it that a component manufacturer is getting involved and not the actual brand.

It's a bit like the Nestles sugar supplier taking Georges Cafe to court because he thinks George is selling fake smarties.

Or am I missing something here?
