I really finish the magazine in a 15 minute session in CNA. Absolutely nothing of interest. I subscribed the first time they came out just to get the socks and that took 3 months to reach me. You must read the small print regarding "free" gifts. They also say "while stocks last".

Promotional items (daai *** boekies) was late from the advertisers so the book was send out a week late!!!!!!!!!

Met trane in my breun oe vra ek nou vir julle of die editor se loyalty aan die subscriber was elke jaar se geldjies betaal le of by die advertiser was sy goed laat aflewer.

Timbrink, 'n antwoord sal waardeer word.

PS. Die mense by die subscriber lyn was baie vriendelik na my tantrum en gese hulle stem saam dat dit verkeerd is en my subscription met 2 maande verleng.

No vendor may debit your card without your signiture or consent.

A voice recording would help the vendors case, but the bank can still request a signed copy of proof.

The only time this changes is when its an on-line vendor who has a special on-line vendor agreement with the bank.

The banks are pedantic about this, call your bank and ask.

Usually the bank will go back to the vendor and ask for a signed copy of the credit card / debit card slip - if it can not be produced, I can assure you the bank will refund the debit if you desire it.

Most vendors work on the presumption that you want continuation, which is fine if you do, however no vendor may debit your card without your consent.

Too think i almost signed up for a subscription... I might as well just buy it when there's something worth while to read...

The free gifts aren't really free at all...so what's the point...???

The banks are just as bad with their assumptions. I got a SMS from my bank letting me know my credit card limit was increased 200%. I had to phone them to cancel it and they really sounded surprised when I did.

That's true...if they can't get you to take out a second or a third credit card then they just pump your credit limit...

Over the past few months i have recieved offers ranging from R1000 to R100 000 but the days of finance houses and banks lending haphazardly to consumers are soon to be over as from June the new National Credit Act comes into effect. Gone will be days your bank manager can just let your overdraft slide and put gobbledy gook in your loan agreements.

Aww, bicycling is great value, through discovery it costs like R6 a month or something. I love the section with the full page pictures of places in SA and roadies MTBers - this is worth R6 on its own...

and who cares if it is late. cyclingnews.com gives you news that is up to date within 6 hours, any magazine is going to be a week late...

and for articles like '6 tips to build better abs' 'winter weight control' 'your first 100k race' etc it does not matter if they are a week or two late.

One thing (Tim) that annoys me is that the published prices of new bicycles are really high - higher than any bicycle shop, this is misleading to the consumer.
