Why you shouldn't touch a disc rotor

Caution - this contains a couple of very gross pictures!!!

 

 

 

 

During the Karwats ride on Saturday, just outside Hermanus, a mate of mine crashed. His bike landed on top of him, with the rear disc rotor coming to rest on his left arm. Minty has seen this in the "flesh", and I am sure he will agree - it is not a pleasant sight. DO NOT TOUCH HOT DISC ROTORS!

Eish....the pics really don't do it justice! Doesn't show how deep it is!

 

The nurse says the white parts are cooked fat......yugh!

I see that they have a warning tag to "not touch the rotors while they are moving" attached to them
