Why you shouldn't touch a disc rotor

Recommended Posts

Caution - this contains a couple of very gross pictures!!!

During the Karwats ride on Saturday, just outside Hermanus, a mate of mine crashed. His bike landed on top of him, with the rear disc rotor coming to rest on his left arm. Minty has seen this in the "flesh", and I am sure he will agree - it is not a pleasant sight. DO NOT TOUCH HOT DISC ROTORS!

My wife treating the patient

And a good post race braai (from left to right - my wife, me, Bonte (burn victim's wife), and Minty)

I see that they have a warning tag to "not touch the rotors while they are moving" attached to them
