The brakes are inside the fork and seat stay. I thought that this would have started a new treand, but it doesn't seem to have.

It is technically not inside the stays or fork. They are split and that acts as the v-brakes.

I think it's still to early to say - it's only really been 2 or 3 years since we've seen TT bike's rear brake go from the traditional place to below the BB and only a year since we've seen them disappear inside the frame.

I think in 5 years all cables will be concealed (tt and roads) and all brakes will become part of the frame/fork. There is very little left for manufacturers to do that is radically different and this is an opportunity for them to sell more bikes.

Personally I can see the benefits of full aero integration on TT bikes but for road the benefits are seriously reduced because of pack riding - even sprinting you only hit the wind a few 100m from the finish. Ridley are quoting 2-3km/h faster on their "aero" bike but my gut feel is that they're lying through their teeth. I'd love to see the data on those calcs...

Looking at that Ridley, I'd shy away from that concept, cause I'd like to pick my own gruppo, brakes included.

Agreed! I'm a "pro choice" kinda guy and shy away from systems where only 1 or 2 proprietry manufacturers can supply parts. I hate fiddly little things like internal cables, integrated vee brakes, press fit BBs, EBBs, drop out sliders, integrated seat posts etc.

How old am I?????

That will change equipment not the frame - maybe a few specific frame without cable bosses will be made but for the most part frame manufacturers are unaffected by wireless or electronic gruppos.

With Di2 it also started with components. No they build the frames specific without gear cable stops and for internal wiring. Some even build it with special storage compartments for the battery. The one affects the other.

As time goes on I can see the need for specialty frames but right now Di2 has been out for some time and the only modified frames I'ver seen are pro frames.

Maybe 1 in 100,000 frames caters for Di2. This will probably change as the Di2 goes into Ultegra etc.
