What is your RHR?

So you can achieve a heart rate 2bpm above your max?

Either you need to revisit the concept of maximum, or I'm guessing your amplifier goes all the way to 11.

Ok I don't know about yours but my "MAX" is not cast in stone. 188bpm is the max when

i am race ready

when i am less fit my max is higher. not that i can ride harder or faster, just my hr is

higher.

as far as the amp is concerned I don't have a 1-11 indication rather a dB indication.

HA! I beat all of you! my RHR is 70 <img src="https://assets.bikehub.co.za/legacy_images/smilies/smiley5.gif" border="0" align="middle" /> Surprisingly enough I do quite well in races though (quite a few top 10 finishes) maybe being 19 has something to do with that? <img src="https://assets.bikehub.co.za/legacy_images/smilies/smiley36.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

Maybe you just a fit guy who is over-trained? You get enough rest days in?

My Garmin has been in for repairs for some time now, I havnt thought of heart rate related stuff for a while, I almost forgot about it.

My resting is 48 and my max 184bpm Im 29 4 days ago.

I get my HR up into 90's very easy and have to go super easy to keep it in the 80% zone. but my max isnt that high. Different strokes for different folks

My resting heart rate is usually 42-48, depending on the time of the year. My max HR is 192 under normal conditions(I am 25). The highest my HR ever went was 238bpm on my polar. I have a certain heart condition where my heart sometimes goes out of rythm when I get up after crouching or bending over. Been to a few specialists, and apparently a lot of people have this condition. Had it since I was 9 years old. Through trial and error I have found a direct link between my magnesium levels and the heart rythm issue. Haven't had rythm issues for two year now. Been using magnesium supplement for 2 years. Before that it would occur about once a month.

Resting 40 (lowest WAY back when still racing - 29)

Max 188

VO2 51 (According to RS800 - I've actually found that mine is quite close to lab test values on the two occasions I've had it formerly tested)

Age 40

Weight (90kg - which has a HUGE effect on poor VO2 values....)

According to what I have read if your RHR is 60 it is considered quite healthy and means you are fitter than most of the population. Lowest I got a few years ago was 41, now at 62.Getting old!!!!

One of my buddies was in hospital just before the Iron Man. He was so fit that the nurse phones the doctor at 3 in the morning cause she thought he was dying his HR was so low.
