sign-up%20logo.jpgAbout Sign-Up Cyclists Safety Initiative

The Sign-Up Cyclists Safety Initiative is raising funds to create awareness for cyclists safety. The first part of the initiative is to erect regulatory warning sign W309 on the most popular training routes as well Cycle Safe Routes to School across South Africa. To date over 50 signs have been erected along the Lido Loop training route south of Johannesburg. Within the next couple of weeks, we will be erecting over 40 signs along the Cradle of Humankind route which starts at the Broadacres shopping centre and heads towards the Lion Park and back. Permission has been received from Gauteng Roads & Traffic Maintenance whom, thus far, has erected these signs on our behalf. A 1500mm sign costs R590 including brackets and a pole.

Hi Guys

There have been a few concerns with regards to the bank account details.

As my initiative has not been registered due to the ongoing public service strike, DAD has kindly offered for me to use their bank account until such time my one is opened. So please feel safe to use this account.

Regards,

Shaun

Shaun as much as would like to support I will pass this one. I have no need for 700X23C tyres. If the were 700x28C I could use them on el rapido, our road Tandem. I will sit out for this round.

Surely with your technological preferences it would have been called.....say "el samurai"??

No our frame is a handbuilt original crafted with age old techniques in the Toledo district of Spain. It means "The Fast One" and was handbuilt to our exact specifications. I woulld never use any low class product from Italy. We visited their factory during a cycling holiday to Spain and it was finished and we received it before we returned to South Africa.

Oom, I don't expect you or all the others that have supported (some more than once) to enter this month. As you say, you don't need these tyres, but how many could make good use of them. Where could you buy a set of training tyres for R100? and at the same time saving someones life, could be a father, mother, son, daughter, friend or loved one.

I have set up the prizes so that 1 month will be MTB and 1 month road. Next month we have a great MTB prize to give away.

However, if the support is not forthcoming, I might have to look at other alternatives to raising finds.

Thanks Wolfie for your true and unselfish commitment to this initiative. It is greatly appreciated.

We still need to decide where we are going to erect the 8 signs. As most of the supporters are from the PTA area, I suggest we look at a 'popular' training route out that way.

Thug - what you want with another MTB? You just 'blinged' up that one of yours!

My 2007 X9 shifters and RD are looking mighty fine! Will race them at Walkerville.
