Anyone had any ggod or bad experience with these wheels. I can get a set new for R2700!

At normal price of approx R5k they would not be on my shopping list but at this price ....

Still thinking about it. The only problem is that I would have to build up my BMC with DA instead of Chorus as found out now that the special is only with shimaNO hubsCry

Cherry was selling some American Classic wheels too. Perhaps you should send her a PM too.

I looked at Roadbikereview.com and it doesn't seem like anyone has any good things to say about them - mainly problems with the rear hub and constantly going out of "true" by the sounds of things. Anyone here have any issues?

It?s an excellent wheel set, trust me.Thumbs%20Up

But said that it?s not wheels you can mishandle ? look after them end they will look after you.

And you can replace your freebody on the hub to fit campy, but it?s gonna cost you $$$

I've had mine for three years and so far haven't had a single problem with them. As Orca says, as long as you look after them, they are great!!

Orca - what do you mean by "mishandle". I weigh about 90kg - would that be too heavy for these wheels?

Sitting at 90kg?s, all I can say is ?STAY AWAY?

Rather look at AMC? Hurricane range

The Hurricane wheelset is a high-performance clincher wheel for the large and powerful road rider. A good choice for racing, training, or cyclocross. Hurricane wheels create a balance between strength, weight, responsiveness, and durability.

I got a set...at first I broke atleats 1 spoke everytime I rode it. Later on I discovered that there were a manufacturing defect on the hub. The importers replaced it and since then I had no problems. Its a awesome racing wheelset, very light but still stiff enough.

I've got the CR350's. I assume the build quality etc would be similar to that of the CR420's. My freehub went whilst climbing a steep hill. My local bike shop couldn't fix them and had to send them to Cape Town. Cost me R612.00. Shortly after, the free hub locked (wouldn't free wheel), luckily my LBS could fix this one.

Another LBS in town told me that these wheels often break. As I said, mine are the 350's, so maybe the 420's don't have the same problems/reputation.
