Specialized have the Langster. The 08 models have some funky colours

too. I know Fuji have their steel track bike with road geometry and

brake holes drilled in for you to add your own brakes.

Oh ja, almost forgot, the Bianchi Pista also has brake holes drilled in, saw one at Willie E for about 9K. I think all these bikes have road geometry.

Heres the Langster London:

I'm currently looking at building a fixie. My commuter is an old steel (525) LeJeune with semi-horizontal dropouts. It is currently built up as a retro geared bike, with down tube shifters, but I've had it as a singlespeed in the past as well. This time round I'm thinking of going all the way. The only thing bothering me a bit is the gear ratio.

I'm using it for commuting from Milnerton to Rondebosch, so it is all flatland. But, if the Kaapse Dokter picks up, you need a gear low enough to make progress into the wind and then in the afternoon, you need a ratio high enough to allow you to maintain a decent speed WITH the wind.

That's the main reason why I stopped using it as a single speed. With a fixie, with no coasting, maybe I'll learn to spin at 180rpm... Wink

This I like. There's some thing about polished alloy that appeals to me.

yeah, it is really cool. i got a cool phone call yesterday. on saturday, i asked ian, who owns the lbs i work in at the weekends, to get me a price on the new schwinn track bike he saw at a launch last week.

anyway, he phoned yesterday - not to give me the price, but to say it had arrived at the shop. he says i'll be getting it at a hugely discounted price as it was scratched.

not really. the only digital pics that i've got of it is the web sample that i got from mypicture from parys. don't show much. it's an old steel sunn tox. i did it on the cheap. it's just an old 105 road crank on it. and we ditched the rockshox in favour of the old steel raked fork. have some negs at home that i'll get scanned

but here it is anyway:
