Dicky DQ Posted July 22, 2007 Share A few things:1. use a pair of pliers and force the skrew off - then put the slime in. Not such a great option.2. get slime in the bottle with the correct fitting. You cut the nipple to the correct length. Skrew it on and then squeeze the goop in. it takes a while, but it works. I have done this before my conversion to tubeless.3. Get the tubes with slime in them.4. Go tubeless.

Thug Posted July 23, 2007 Share As a general recommendation, I wouldn't use the Joes rim-strips as they are far too thin and break very easily. Rather spend the extra and use Stan's.

AndreZA Posted July 23, 2007 Share 1. Buy a bottle of Slime from Sportsmans Warehouse 2. Buy a nice fat syringe from the chemist3. Inject some slime into your tube4. Patch the hole 5. If your were able to get to a Sportsmans Warehouse as in point 1, you would have been able to buy presta MTB tubes there in the first place. scotty Posted July 23, 2007 Share Buy already filled tubes with slime or as Mampara says, inject some slime into the tube then patch the hole. My success rate with trying to open the valve to insert slime has not been too good, and invariably i end up damaging the valve.
RodTi Posted July 23, 2007 Share Jy het Presta valves.Kry Schrader valves(soos gewone kar valves)' date=' maar jy sal die gaatjies op jou rim groter moet boor. Of kry 'n adapter vir jou Presta Valve. Anyone seen any of them at their LBS in the Cape? If so - where?
Tumbleweed Posted July 23, 2007 Share don't know about the cape shops, but i've seen them at sportsman warehouse. they cost about R20
Hendrik Petoors Posted July 23, 2007 Share On the Road Tandem we use Presta Valves. To enable us to pump tyres at the garage down the road I got the adaptor. Purchased one at Bouwer Broers in Gezina many years ago...... whre else. Do not know about the Cape Colony except that they loose against the Blue Bulls and the ARGUS is held there in March every year.
mountain_lion Posted July 23, 2007 Share The presta to Schrader adapter is handy for inflating when you only have a schrader type pump available. You do get these adapters in the cape - got one at my LBS in Stellenbosch not too long ago. Will not help you much to get slime into a presta valve tube though.
