mama baaisiekel Posted June 3, 2010 Share No WW they were supposed to use everybody's results from Mabalingwe. I checked his index on mtncycling.co.za before Mabalingwe was added, but after Mabalingwe, where he came 6th in the 35 km, his index didnt change at all. After some queying to and fro, his index was adjusted this morning and he will now start in batch B. He doesnt have a new numberboard yet.

Stretch Posted June 24, 2010 Share Swift01, sorry to say this but ROAG is not much better, it only pays to ride all the ROAG races to get a good seeding!!If you do 1 or 2 races and do very well in them, they still seed you in a low batch, due to the fact you have not done enough races in KZN I did Karkloof and Greytown last year, both finished in the top 20...Went back to do Karkloof this year and was seeded in C batch, so that meant havin 120 riders in front of me!Same issues as other timing co's!! Just seen this thread now. but if you were seeded then you were likely seeded in the correct spot according to your ranking. You only need one result to get a correct ranking, and the ranking uses the top 3 of your results. The only thing I could imagine that may have affected your ranking is that after a year a result gets weighted. Karkloof this year was just over a year after the previous one, so your result last year would have been weighted and this may have affected it. The weighting has since been changed to 18 months. At the end of the day there will always be outliers when it comes to rankings etc, but i think on the whole its about right
