I find it intersting that most of us won't support Cajees, the reasons have been listed but I wonder if Cajees will ever bother to up their service and down their prices! I have my own business and am continually checking the internet for posts on my business, what the competition is doing, how can we grow etc and in general just stay on top all the time. It looks like somewhere like Cajees, that aims to displease, will slowly die off in due time, I read that there are now over 9 million internet users in South Africa, compared to some time back when it near on 5 million (can't recall dates) so sooner or later a propective customer will google for Cajees and end up on a site like this where their reputation is very sullied. The sad thing is for all the money somewhere like Cajees makes for themselves, they can't be bothered to employ at least one decent and knowledgable mechanic/salesman in each branch! If you had better service and mechanics, well, the sky is the limit!

I actually like Linden Cycles and Mikes Bikes. Both offer good advice, service etc.

Mike's is unusual because they are seriously boutique, but don't have their heads up their own arses.

Its just a shame that they are not close to me, so I can only support them when in the area.

My close options are CL, FPC and Cajees. I'll take my chances with Cajees when I need something in a hurry.

Hee Hee nolipoli, I like how you will choose cajees over CL and FP, at least at cajees you know what to expect. In Sundowner there is a small shop called cyclist workshop 073 261 7483. 1 man show, very good at setting your bike up and great prices.

and almost across the road is Eagle Canyon Cycles. Some good prices but can't compete with the Indian owned shops.

I have been to Eagle Canyon Cycles once. I don't mind the shop. They seemed nice, and did have nice bikes to look at.

I just left empty handed when they didn't have what I was looking for. I guess in fairness, an older, more established shop would have a greater depth and range of stock.

But you know how it goes - its a long way from central Fourways to Eagle Canyon if they don't have what you need.

I am happy to try Cyclist Workshop too. Thanks for the heads up.

YOU DON'T TAKE YOUR BIKE TO CAJEES. And no matter what the price, you don't buy from them either. They don't do anything for cycling.

agree with you Carvelo, didnt get good service from the bokburg. its like they in a hurry to get rid of a person

I believe that Cajees are franchises rather than 'one company' - I don't know if that makes a difference (the one's I've been in seem to have 'one focus').

What I can't believe about the Fourways Cajees is how they stay in business - have you seen the stock that they have got! There must be millions, and millions of stock in - OK they make a good profit margin on each 'sale', but to have that amount of money tied up on stack seems not to make sense.

My favourite shop for buying parts and accessories is Solomons - I've always found them to be knowledgable, helpful, and straight - and they 'go the extra mile' to make a sale.

@ stryder

which cycling stores in cape town are you referring too that one should avoid?

No sir, will not slander. Maybe my bad experience was an anomoly and as such cannot be treated as the norm.
