it should be ok to do a normal race with a vest, but if you are racing licensed category, then UCI rules state you must have sleeves

Maybe too many people wore arm warmers with sleeveless tops and the fashion police stepped in and put a stop to it?

As far as i know it's a UCI law for racing.If you look at events like Argus you will see many riding in vests.

100% correct but still a little better then tools wearing arm warmers with it. (stands and points to the crowd of tri-athletes)

'coz if you have enough money to buy a bike and enter a race, you should be able to afford sleeves on your shirt!

 

It is more socially acceptable **** your pants.

Or just wear a sign that says i have a small .............

Oiy! some of us wear them to try avoid the infamous tan lines (ok, so some of us girls are materialistic and image-conscious.... ;P )

You're all just jeolous, cause you don't have the guns to show off whith sleeveless.

 

I run with sleeveless and my tri-top is sleeveless.

Its fine for girls....

But not for anyone who thinks he is a girl, should have been a girl or want to be a girl.

 

One or two exceptions like triathlon.

One of the vets in the Western Cape wears a sleeveless top in licenced races and nothing gets said.
