Tokai Forest Night Rides

Hey guys, would like to get a HUGE group together to ride in Tokai Forest on a Wed/Thurs evening every week. (Guys and Girls)

 

Let me know what night & time will suit?

I am keen! As soon as I bought myself some lights I will join on Thursday evenings.

I really hope the sudden popularity with tokai nightriding doesn't lead to it getting stopped.

 

So please stick by the rules for all our sake.

(As I remember them)

Wildcard or daily permit required.

Stick to level 5 or below(so no mast, no silvermine)

Ride in groups of three or more

Riding only tues to thurs.

 

(The unwritten one) try not to make a huge geraas going past the caretakers house

david16v - please add a poll to this thread so that people can vote for Wednesday or Thursday evening. That way we can clearly see which evening is more suitable.

I really don't think night riding in Tokai forest is that much more popular than it was a while back. I know every time I've ridden there in the evenings, the people that have been riding obey the rules as if it was a day ride.

 

Would you mind posting a reference to the original source of those rules please.

There is always a bunch of us that leave at 7 ish on a Thursday night. Mainly trail riding with as little jeep track as possible.

Park at the shopping mall, Steenberg next to the prison so your car doesnt lose any windows.

A few of us went for a nice ride tonight. Up to the mast - the clear skies tonight made for an awesome view at the top! Quite a few people out in the forest tonight which is cool to see. B)

Rule #7: Obey the speed limit at night!

• 10km/h on the main hill

If someone else can break rules, so can I.

 

Dangerous thinking, regardless of the context. People who race their pimped cars with flashy wheels at night are also just having fun...

 

Have you thought about what would happen if someone went off a cliff at night when the rules prohibited riding there in the first place? Joe public hears about this, lobbies the powers that be and demands that no one should be allowed to ride anywhere in Tokai at night, for their own safety. Fun over.
