when i was still in the defence force ' date=' I used to do nature conservation, used to catch a lot snakes.  Cuaght a 2.4 mt Mazambican Spitting Cobra, took it into the Unit and could not understand why nobody wanted to talk or stand and listen to me.  Some people have no mannersLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOL

Later I kept a Puffadder as a car guard , funny after that nobody stole anything from my bakkie, called the sanke Andries.  Used it in lectures , funny too how awake people are when you walk past them with a 50 cm snake in your handLOLLOLLOL

These spiders are a common site in P.E....Used to find them in the house quite often.

Only problem was when you found one...There always seemed to be a second one hanging around.

And if you have a daughter that dislikes them (due to her grandmother) you are tasked to find the other visitor.Wink

Remember the first time caught one at about 5 in the morning. Placed it on the other side of the garden. At about seven the screams came from the bathroom where another sat on the towel rack.

Thank goodness there was no DOOM in the house...

I have also thought about that..And they don't want you to take it outside...You must kill it first and then get rid of the body....Evil%20Smile

And they don't want to be close when you have to kill it because of the sound it makes...Those big ones makes a funny sound when you step on them....

Then of course there are those beautiful creatures...THE PARKTOWN PRAWN.......

When they come to visit even the dogs sit on the couch while you have to get rid of them!!!

"These are carniverous Arachnids, that hunt their prey by chasing it. It feeds on ANYTHING. It will eat mice, litte birds, basically, anything it catches. If you feel a hard nip on your shoe at night, you have been zapped. If you are barefoot, you hear a loud yelp and "Something Bit me" and a little red mark/spot of blood.
Non poisonous.
It has the habbit of "chewing" patches of hair off animals and uses it for "nesting"/lair.
SLEEP WELL!!!! "

Spare a thought for the poor rain spider. They have a natural enemy far more cruel than us humans. There is a wasp that targets these spiders that will sting them and then lay their eggs in the spiders abdomen. The really cruel part is that the spider doesn't die, just is paralysed, and when the wasps hatch they have live spider flesh to feed on.

I have some photos of a wasp attacking a spider in my house. The wasp was incredibly aggressive and after stinging the spider, started dragging it across the floor to get it outside. Will upload these photos tonight when i get home.
