I see in the UK they have mobile crushers at roadblocks, they crush the car on the spot if it does not have its roadworthy and insurance etc. If they did that here we could probably reduce vehicles on the road by around 60% I reckon. But at the end of the day there is no respect for the law. You are free to do what you want here, and if you get caught, well so what, pay a bribe and off you go again!

'mobile crushers'??? where did you get that?

anyway,

RIP to the cyclist

biggest problem in SA is the K53 driving test. It does not teach you how to drive. When I passed my licence I had access to my dads M3(210kw). No some please explain to me how driving a midge(maybe 50kw) at 40kmh prepares me for the speed and power of a M3? Needless to say my dad did not let me drive it alone for a long time. K53 is a stupid useless and dumb test.

Was on a Discovery channel program sometime back about the fuzz in the UK, they peridoically have big road blocks and if your ducks are not in a row they crush the car, and to top it all, its at your expense!

One thing I have never understood is why, if the majority of accidents occur at night, are we not tested at night? Its amazing how many people drive poorly at night.

Just disgracefull figures.!

.....But its just a symtom of our total disregard for the law in this country.

In any first world country the citizens respect the law and obey it, they may not like it, they may not want it, they may not even agree with it, but they will obey it.

I have a mate who lives in a New York apartment, every day he takes his dog out for a walk and carries with him a plastic spade and bag to collect any mess. Hmm, dont see much of that around my neighbourhood where the sidewalks are festooned with dog droppings.

The dog is licensed and he ensures the license is displayed on its collar. I asked him if anyone ever checks the license, he said no one had ever checked his, but its the law to license your pet so he do's. Like thats gonna work here.!

We have no one to blame but ourselves, our total disregard for the law here from collecting dog droppings to motor vehicle licenses to driving ability means the carnage will continue UNTIL we change our attitudes.

Post of the Day to the Grumpy old Guy in the corner(imagine clapping emoticon).

I was discussing this very dog poo example with one of our American employees last week and told him that people here will even pick up the dog poo when the dwag poops in the forest, never mind on the pavement.

Its a state of mind and hinges around the words "Tolerance and consideration"

Man I wish I could invent the virus / vaccination that distributes these qualities....
