Put in a 360 or a superman, and you're legend.

Don't know if you watched the last Rampage vid, and you see them interview Gee and then the Claw.

Gee, "it would mean a lot to me to win this"

Berrecloth "yeah, for me to win it would be cool, but it's not the biggest thing in the world. You're just here to have fun and ride with your friends."

That's the difference between a racer and a freerider.

Yeah, agreed!

Did you watch the 2003 Rampage DVD with the Cedric Garcia interview? Hi is just as legend and chilled it seems :)

agreed Rock: Gee did awesomely irrespective of the fact he didnt have a 'trick' to perform. But his one and only run was easily teh most assured, surefooted run of the pack. He was super steezy.

I think the reason the guys "trick'ng" all the jumps are not so smooth is because they are tricking them..Im just saying..

no need to state it: that is obvious. BUt for guys that trick for a living, they didnt seem that assured just riding. it was a bit weird cos they were waaaay slower than Gee. But let's not overlook the fact Gee tripled stuff as sick speed. if someone says that doesnt take sick skill, then they need to take up roadriding..

DARN Look how close Gee came to the cliff on that transfer! that was nailed so precise! wow. guess thats why they gave him 2nd.

I love the vid in the interview with Cam Zink, where he mentioned they put more rebound on his rear suspension so he wouldnt get bounced off the bottom, or something like that, it clearly worked.

Pitty romaniac crashed, I love his balls to the walls "sending" in the videos.

Man these guys go BEEEG!

shot for the photos guys.

Haha you tuning me! I get what youre on about Capricorn :P

I think the "tricsters" were also quite out of their depth on some of these huge lines, nobody does this kind of stuff in their sleep, so nailing 360's etc on stuff with such long airtime is no easy feat.

Anyway, lets not split hairs, wasnt my intension..Its bloody awsome either way, and I must say I prefer a smooth whipped line above a tricked out sketchy ne, so let me not fight for the wrong party

:)

totally agreed Bos on the previous post..

and ya, i couldn't help myself: had to tune a bit :P no worries. I think we on the same page.

I just watched those clips again, check how DODGE "the claw's" run is..the second drop...if he didnt stick that he was down that huge clif on his bum!

on the other hand, Gee is very smooth , I agree, and that stepdown hip, the landing is HARD! you come down there you shatter, not powdery like the other.. I do like Zinks "Moto whip" at the bottom aswell.

i think Gee's approach helped alot, as both Romaniuk and his riding mate Kinrade stacked badly on trying to land that hip transfer. I dunno, but it seems Romaniuk's original line was too direct, it was like he was jumping into the face of the hip, and busted his man-stanchion.

Mike Kinrade totally exploded his fork on trying the same approach as Romaniuk.

But from where i'm lying on the couch (:P) gee's approach or the other are just so damn gnarly.

btw: on Claw's run, i'm actually surprised he didnt take the win from Zink,or at least be a damn close second. his run was so damn technical, and dangerous. Motowhip aside, it seems Zink's run was a one trick wonder. But as you said, who the hell in his right mind would even try to land the Oakley icon sender, much less 360 it. (i had high hopes that nutty spaniard Lacondeguy was gonna flip it.

now that would have had me gigling like a lunatic:unsure:

looking at the view from up there, how do these NUT's even know how fast to go, or how slow to rotate..jeesh.

I've probably watched these three vids about 20 times each now. Huge respect to all three these guys, but I agree on Zink's run being a bit of a one-trick wonder.

Claw's run was definitely the longest and most varied and IMHO the more traditional big-mountain run. As for his run being a bit dodge, well, he has been described as an oaf on a bike. He's never been known for being super smooth, but the guy has BALLS!

Gee's run being fast, again, is not really what big mountain riding is about. I think generally speaking free-riding is not so much about speed, even on descents. They don't ride slowly, but it's more about the jumps and the technical lines.
